About Group 1 Solutions, Inc.

Group 1 Solutions, Inc. has been serving local government since 1993. At its roots is the commitment to help local governments operate as effectively as possible to meet the challenges unique to local government operations.

The Early Years

For many years the company grew from two Divisions, Group 1 Resources, Inc., which focused on management consulting, and Group 1 Conversion Services, Inc., which focused on GIS development and drawing conversion. Through these two Divisions, Group 1 steadily grew to include key personnel with operations backgrounds in most aspects of local government, including MIS, public safety, city management, departmental management, etc.

The Development Years

The advent of laptop computers expanded the focus of the company to the needs of outside operations, specifically public safety. In response to our clients' needs and commitments, the Remote Access ^TM product was launched in 1995. After several years of development effort and testing by dozens of departments, Remote Access ^TMstabilized. To more effectively meet the changing needs of our clients, Group 1 Conversions Inc. was merged into Group 1 Resources, Inc., which now had responsibility for all company offerings, including management and product consulting, and product support.

The Maturity Years

Over time, the number of Remote Access ^TMusers continually grew, and many dozens of clients began relying on it for their field-based access to mission-critical information. Tragic events at Columbine High School and the terrorist attacks on our homeland moved the company to focus even greater attention on public safety. Realizing that domestic preparedness was the single greatest challenge facing local government, the company committed itself to ensuring Remote Access ^TM met these new challenges, including unified command, SWAT and Tactical Operations, force protection, asset tracking and situational awareness, etc.

Group 1 Solutions, Inc. is the result of this evolution: a company of government professionals, operating with a consultant's perspective, meeting the challenges of fire, law enforcement and the military in preparing and defending our homeland.
